Treasures Uncovered and Valued

In April 2013 and 2014, we presented our Antiques Appraisal event at City Hall.

Even though we've skipped a year, the event was such a tremendous success, that we have invited the appraisers from Appraisal Specialists Midwest back, and will be holding the event once again!

Please join us at Hanover City Hall on Saturday, April 16th 2016.  Doors open at 9:00am, and the event starts at 10:00am.

The event will go until Noon, and a silent auction will be held during the entire event.

To donate items for the silent auction, or if you have any questions, please contact Claudia Pingree at 763-498-8435 or by email ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ).

Cost is $5 for up to 2 items, or $1 admission to watch all the fun.  There will be FREE refreshments for everyone!

ASM is also willing to offer a discounted appraisal fee for Pre-Scheduled appraisals on the day of the event.  Please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for move details on this awesome offer!

Here's our press release about the event:

Curious about some of Grandma’s antiques or the value of your own family heirlooms? Here’s your opportunity to learn more about a special item and its value. It’s part adventure, part history lesson, and a whole lot of fun.

Join us as the Hanover Historical Society presents its second Antique Appraisal Fair on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 10 a.m. until noon at Hanover City Hall.

Admission is $1 without items. If you want items valued, cost is $5; two items per person. If you are a Hanover Historical Society member, or want to join the day of the event, your fee will be waived. As time is limited, this is a first-come, first-served event. Doors will open at 9:00 a.m. You’ll want to come early to ensure your item is eligible for an appraisal – and to enjoy a cup of coffee and donut.

Appraisal Specialists Midwest (ASM), the Twin Cities’ foremost qualified personal property appraisers with more than 50 years of combined experience, will provide the expertise. They are not dealers or auctioneers. Their professional objectivity provides you with an Antiques Roadshow™-like experience. Widely respected, the appraisers have appeared on Antiques Roadshow, HGTV’s Collectible Treasures and frequent guests on KARE 11.

ASM’s team of three experts will analyze your item and provide:

  1. An instant professional opinion of value
  2. Intriguing story about your item’s history
  3. An entertaining and interactive format

Areas of specialty include: antiques, collectibles, coins, books, household items and silver. No firearms, dolls, fine art, jewelry or large furniture. If bringing furniture, you must be able to carry your item in and out.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn the history and value of your item!

Treasures Uncovered and Valued (2)

In April 2013, we presented a fantastic event at City Hall that excited many local individuals and inspired them to attend and find out how much their coveted treasures were worth, or to just hear stories about the possible origins or uses for antique items that ran the gamut from plates and saucers to old Coca-Cola signs.

Our plan is to hold this event once again in the Spring of 2014, so visit this page again for more information as it becomes available.
